This is a technical tree climb by the very pleasant Hobson's Brook. The brook is part of Hobson's conduit, a 17th century aqueduct built to bring fresh water from springs to the south of Cambridge to the city centre and the colleges.
The tree is on the footpath on the WEST side of the brook. It is accessed via the path from Brooklands Avenue, or from Long Road. There is no crossing point into the residential area to the east.
I placed the cache solo and without aid. You could do it with aid, but then where's the sense of achievement in that? It's a bit of a stretch, but I was able to do it (I'm 5'9"). I lost some skin and blood in the process though!
Once you get into the tree, the cache will be obvious. It's a camouflaged 35mm container with no pen, so you'll need to bring your own. The climb is a bit like a harder, scratchier version of Paradise Ascension.
Once again, I placed it unaided, so unless you're a lot shorter than I am, there's no excuse for using equipment or a leg up!
