Geocache Description:

The Allegheny Rangers love a good Road Trip!  As we were moving down the highway, we started discussing our favorite Road Trip songs.  Once we started a list, we came up with our favorites quickly.  So what better way to celebrate good music than to place a series of caches?  Here are our 63 favorites as selected by the crew.   Complete the series and we will even send you a token to remember your trip!  No order or ranking to the songs...just enjoy the ride :)

Renegade is a 1979 hit song recorded by the American rock band Styx. It was on their Pieces of Eight album.  The song is a first-person narrative of an outlaw, captured for a bounty, who recognizes that he is about to be executed for his criminal activities.  “Renegade” actually began life as an acoustic ballad, but when Tommy Shaw brought it in, Dennis DeYoung (somewhat ironically) suggested that Styx heavy it up into the classic it is today.

This song has an interesting Ranger story behind it.  Ask one of the founders about it if you see them.  smiley

Caches are along the back roads in and around Clarion County.   There should be ample space to pull off the road, but be careful to consider traffic...even on these quiet stretches.
