Gramps here. Wait for wind from the southwest, then listen. That's right. Why wind from the southwest? Because that's when planes landing in Reno make their approach to Reno–Tahoe International Airport over this geocache, flying in from the north in order to land on the main runway against the wind.

And if you want to listen seriously to some wind shear, make your way across the river to the mound of earth south of GZ where the planes are that much lower and you will be that much higher.
