Geocache Description:

The Allegheny Rangers love a good Road Trip!  As we were moving down the highway, we started discussing our favorite Road Trip songs.  Once we started a list, we came up with our favorites quickly.  So what better way to celebrate good music than to place a series of caches?  Here are our 63 favorites as selected by the crew.   Complete the series and we will even send you a token to remember your trip!  No order or ranking to the songs...just enjoy the ride :)

Ring of Fire is a song popularized by Johnny Cash and co-written by June Carter Cash and Merle Kilgore. The single appears on Cash's 1963 album, Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash.  The song was originally recorded by June's sister, Anita Carter, on her Mercury Records album Folk Songs Old and New in 1963.  Cash claimed he had a dream where he heard the song accompanied by "Mexican horns".  When the song failed to become a major hit for Anita, Cash recorded it his own way, adding the mariachi-style horns.  Cash's daughter Rosanne has stated, "The song is about the transformative power of love and that's what it has always meant to me and that's what it will always mean to the Cash children.

Sometimes on a road trip…this song means something else entirely. smiley

Caches are along the back roads in and around Clarion County.   There should be ample space to pull off the road, but be careful to consider traffic...even on these quiet stretches.
