Geocache Description:

A simple addition to the SideTracked series close to where the old station used to be on Brecon Road in Abergavenny, SE Wales.

This is a simple and straightforward addition to the popular SideTracked series.

The Station

Once there used to be three railway stations in Abergavenny, which included this one - Brecon Road Station, Abergavenny Junction station and the only remaining station - Abergavenny Railway Station. This station was opened on the 1st October 1862 by the Merthyr, Tredegar and Abergavenny Railway and was closed on the 6th January 1958. on the site is now a local GP surgery but you do not need to go on surgery grounds to access this cache. The walling around you dates from when the station was still there.

The Cache

The cache is a standard micro that should be easy to find, placed, as it is, on a footpath that can be a little busy. The clue tells you exactly where it is. You can park very close in Chapel Road just off the Brecon Road
