From this spot you would have heard the trains, and even sat on a train just for the ride. Did you know that German Marshall of the Empire Herman Goering was a model train collector? His model train is now at the New Brunswick Museum. The RCAF established a radar site nearby toward the end of the war. Apparently remnants of this radar site can still be seen toay. Saint John has two small connections to radar during World War Two. Lord Beaverbrook was involved in the early discussions with Prime Minister Churchill on the development of radar. A Saint John air force officer commanded the radar training school here in Canada.
