Geocache Description:

Lees Hall Wood is one of the largest of the seven Heritage Woodlands in the Gleadless Valley. This area lies only 2 miles south-east of Sheffield city centre and was until its development as a residential district in the 1950's and 60's, The wood takes its name from Lees Hall, a now vanished farm known to have been established before 1616.

This is a small clip lock container with a log sheet pencil and room for swaps and tb's, the FOURTH in a series of five, the last one is still waiting to be placed!!! Situated in lees hall woods a short walk from the main road with plenty of parking nearby, sorry but its inaccessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, it can get very very muddy so bring your wellies and be careful as there are a couple of steep hills, its also very close to a stream but is never more than a foot deep, dog walking muggles should be the only people you see AND MAYBE THE ODD WOMBLE MAKING GOOD USE OF THE THINGS THAT THEY FIND, this is my first go at hiding so any feedback helpful, enjoy the views and happy hunting. Lees Hall Wood has a greater proportion of semi-natural areas than the other woods in the Gleadless Valley and also supports a rich ground flora. It also contains some of the better examples of charcoal platforms and whitecoal pits to be found in the area. because of this the area of woodland is classed as a nature reserve so please treat it accordingly. permission has been given to place these caches by sheffield city councils woodland officer mr john gilpin, so if you see him out and about give him a wave and quick thank you for letting me place these caches.
