The Hunzinger Museum has a collection of items depicting the history of Roanoke. Opened in 1984, the Hunzinger Museum is located in the Roanoke Park, fulfilling the dream of brothers, Frank and Sam Hunzinger. Sam Hunzinger had numerous collections, including: Native American artifacts, butterflies, an extensive stamp collection, and photographs, as well as several other items that he wished to be preserved. This museum is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend and hosts a variety of hobbies and collections on display (as noted on the Village of Roanoke website). The Roanoke Park hours are 6AM to 10PM.
