Geocache Description:

Smarter than the average bear? Always in the ranger's hair? Find a picnic table and you're almost there. Sleep till noon, but before it's dark you can have it better than a millionaire. You're more likely to see a mare than a bear, but the view is fair. Prove you were there by sending an e-mail with the monument's number pair and anything odd of which you are aware. Don't place the answers in the logs, even if encrypted, c'est la guerre.

Inside Umstead State Park. Accessible by mountain trail bike, horse, or foot. Several approaches are possible with terrains varying from 1 to 3 (you might include the one you used in your log entry).

The general area is easily found on a map of Umstead State Park, but don't think you can log this one just because you read some bad poetry. These coordinates are for a monument not a picnic table or hitching post (though both can be seen there). To log this one you need to find the monument and read it carefully. A pair of numbers should be obvious. The proof of the cache will be an e-mail with those numbers that notes anything unusual about the way they are written.

Ranger Smith and his colleagues ask you to please leave a note on your vehicle dashboard identifying yourself as a geocacher. Orienteering groups in parks do this for safety reasons.
