How Weird a World We Live In

Whether you live in the North, the South, the East, or the West, it comes as no surprise that we live in a crazy world.  From reading books that stimulate our minds and intellects, to sitting at home or in a movie theater and immersing ourselves in 3-D, the world is full of wonder.  Many of the essential thoughts on craziness we gather come from our childhood and remain engrained in our brains. As children, we have a tendency to twist and warp the things we see and hear into much more zany manifestations than they really are.  Childhood tends to really be when the saga begins.   Children of today have the internet and thousands of cable channels at their disposal to see all the craziness.  Older generations had to rely on UHF and other stuff to get their fill of the weirdness.  To make matters even worse, younger generations are exposed to more and more weirdness as each day passes.  For those who dare to be stupid beyond their wildest dreams, there exists an activity they can attend to proudly display their weirdness: a polka party!

While there is plenty of weirdness in the world, a lot of attention can be placed on the west and its contributions.  From movies with men who have scissors for hands, we learn the dangers of running with scissors, not to mention Avon and bad hair.  If nothing else, the essential thing to take away from being a man with scissor hands is to learn to shave ice sculptures.  But enough of that movie and its silliness, there are far more real world things to be explored.  Take the average business-person power attire: suit, tie, shoes.  Then consider how the world is changing.  Instead of these clothes being part of the essential workplace, now exists the wildness of casual Friday.  “Good grief!” you might exclaim, “but casual Friday is just another day at work, right?”  Wrong.  Overdressing on a Friday can lead to one looking like the outcast.  It could even become a black mark on your permanent record.  To recap, the essential thing to remember is that the workplace can be just as weird as anywhere else.  Speaking of workplaces, take the barber.  If he were to come speeding out of his back room running with scissors, you could be left with one heck of a whack job and a super bad hair day.  Not exactly the image we’d like to go forth with in this crazy world.  But alas, until the day comes that we see the four horseman of the alpocalypse and realize that the end is near, we will just keep trucking along and living in this weird, weird world.
