La casa del Hornillo pertenece a la Consejería de Medio Ambiente y Ordenación del Territorio y está situado en las inmediaciones del Puerto de Canencia.

El lugar destaca por su riqueza botánica y el arbolado existente recibe el nombre de Bosque del Collado Cerrado. La especie dominante es el pino albar que aparece acompañada de especies botánicas protegidas como el acebo, el tejo, el roble albar, el serbal, el cerezo silvestre o el olmo de montaña. El centro cuenta con una casa equipada para pernoctar y una senda botánica.

Accesos

Desde el municipio de Canencia se accede por la carretera comarcal M - 629 hasta el puerto de Canencia. Desde el municipio de Miraflores de la Sierra se puede acceder también por la carretera M - 629 (KM 8). Ya en el puerto de Canencia se llega a partir de la pista forestal que comunica los puertos de Canencia y de La Morcuera.

The Hornillo house belongs to the Ministry of Environment and Territorial Planning and is located near the Port of Canencia.

The place stands out for its botanical wealth and the existing trees are called the Bosque del Collado Cerrado. The dominant species is the white pine that appears accompanied by protected botanical species such as holly, yew, white oak, rowan, wild cherry or mountain elm. The center has a house equipped for the night and a botanical path.

Access

From the municipality of Canencia it is accessed by the regional highway M - 629 to the port of Canencia. From the municipality of Miraflores de la Sierra it can also be accessed by the M - 629 road (KM 8). Already in the port of Canencia it is reached from the forest track that connects the ports of Canencia and La Morcuera.
