This cache (our first) invites you to discover and explore the tremendous grounds of St.Martin's Church in Laugharne. St.Martin's Church was built in the Norman time and has been restored twice; once in the 15th century and most recently in 1873. The church itself is a beautiful cruciform building within a fantastic, peaceful setting. It's a nice place to take a stroll, sit on a bench, and gather your thoughts. If you like your Welsh history, the grounds are home to the grave of Laugharne's famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas. See if you can find it!
The cache itself is a small clip-box container. It is not placed within the Church grounds, but near a public cobbled stone path which runs alongside the grounds of the church. The cobbled road continues on to St.Martin's wood, where more caches will be placed in the very near future, so please do call around again!
Congratulations daveylamp on the FTF. Found on the very day of publish, and AWFUL weather for geocaching too!
PLEASE TAKE CARE TO REPLACE THE CACHE EXACTLY AS FOUND, OR IT MAY SPILL INTO THE ROAD WHERE IT WOULD SURELY BE MUGGLED! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
