Geocache Description:

We placed a few geocaches on this fantastic ridge last year and decided to come back again this year to place a few more along the cutline and creek.  We figured the more caches here the better and maybe it might get a bit more traffic.  This hike took us 2  hours and 25 minutes (including 20 minutes of breaks and hiding 4 caches). You are looking for a small round LNL. Follow offshoot trail beside cutline and it is about 10 meters off the trail.

Park at the posted coordinates.  Hike away from the road with a barbed wire fence on your right for approximately 600 meters until you come to a T intersection.  Cut hard left (you will do the loop clockwise) and you will go along Lesueur Creek.  Go straight (you will do the loop counter clockwise) and you will go up the ridge first.  I would STRONGLY recommend doing the ridge first.  While hiking the ridge you are facing the mountains and the view is unobstructed and fantastic.  Hike up the steep ridge (no switchbacks just various grunts up) as it goes up and down.  You will notice a trail veering off to the left near the end of the ridge.  This has a gorgeous viewpoint.  Return to the trail and head north through some bush until you hit a cutline at the far end of your return trip.  Go down the cutline and find a few of the newer caches placed for approximately 1.1 km (you can take various parallel trails).  At the bottom (just after a very small creek) you will go up a small hill and hit a 4 way junction.  From here you can take a hard left and go down a faint trail which heads into the main trail (go left here - this is what we did) or you can go down that hill and then take a left.  Either way you end up at the same general spot and you will follow Lesueur Creek which will be on your right and you will snag a new series of caches placed on your return trip.  You will mingle amongst an Aspen Forest for about a third of your way home and about two thirds will be along the base of the ridge in an open grassland (very nice).  Hit the T intersection and turn right and you will follow the fence (to your left) for 600 meters until you return to the car.
