A cache located near a hiking trail at the Douglas County Recreation Area. This cache brings you pretty close to the golf course. Use care when replacing the log!
There is a parking area near the water access for the lake. A trail to the north leads you on a walk into the trees between the lake and the golf course. The trail is pretty easy to follow, although some areas get a little overgrown later in the summer. This is a county park and no entrance fee is required.
Finding the cache will require getting through a few trees. Bug spray is a must during the summer! There is also a hiking trail on the west side of the lake. Take time to check out the other caches at the park!
Douglas County Recreation Area is home to a campground, lake, and the Lakeview Golf Course. It has has trails for hiking, a playground, and a picnic shelter. The campground has electric hook-ups, lots of mature trees, firepits, and modern restroom facilities. Camping is available for a modest fee.
