On September 8, 2014, the Harvest Moon will be rising, and the top of the hill at Sholan Farms in Leominster, MA will be the perfect place to see it! The Harvest Moon is the full moon that appears closest to the autumnal equinox. This can occur up to two weeks before or after the equinox, so this year it's about as early as it can come. The official time of the full moon will be Monday, September 8, at 9:38 p.m. EDT, so the moon will be just reaching its peak during this event.
Refreshments will be available for purchase from local vendors, so come by after work and bring your family. Find some nearby caches and catch up with your caching friends. Look for the smiley face balloons to find the log! The log will be available between 5PM and 8PM. There may even be some new caches available. Follow the signs for parking.
Sholan Farms is dog-friendly, but all geopups must be leashed and you must clean up after them. This has been a problem at this location in the past, so management is on the lookout for non-compliance.
