The distance from Molong to Yeoval is an easy 47km, passing through another sleepy village of Cumnock.
Yeoval is a small country town in Central NSW, it has an approximate population of around 300 people and is a great little place to stop on your way to somewhere else. It has camping at the local showground, you can pay for power if you need to, it has a great pub, good food at the bowling club and some interesting shops in the main street.
There is also a great museum here that you can visit with a lot of interesting material on rural living. Banjo Patterson also spent time here growing up as a child, the foundations of his home still exist, but they are on private property and cannot be visited. There is a museum and cafe dedicated to Banjo Patterson on the main street as well as a huge bronze sculpture in the park.
On the road from Molong, there are many strange bike-orientated sculptures as well as all sorts of weird and wonderful animals created from scrap farm parts. A fun drive to view these!
Yeoval is also one of the locations that the yearly Mulga Bill festival takes place.
There is fuel available in town, as well as cafes, post office and a popular swimming pool in summer. More and more people use yeoval as a stop over point as they are touring around NSW, it is a nice and quiet village to stay in for a while.
My ancestors were one of the founding families in Yeoval and my dad grew up here, riding his horse to school, no matter what the weather. My parents live here still today.
