Ved foten av Besshøe mot sør ligger Bessvatnet og Besseggen. Fra Besshøe synes Besseggens flotte beliggenhet mellom det blå Bessvatnet (1373moh) og den grønne innsjøen Gjende (984moh), som ligger nesten 400 meter lavere enn Bessvatnet uten at det er noen elv mellom vannene.>
To the south of the mountain you see Bessvatnet lake and Besseggen - a popular trail/traversal, where several thousand people walk each year. You also see over to Gjende lake. Notice the color difference of the lakes.
To the NE you can see Russvatnet (1175mos)
Det går an å gå hit både fra Gjendeheim, Bessheim og Memurubu. Foreslått rute fra turistforeningen - http://ut.no/tur/2.2855/ - er å gå til Bessvatnet og så ta oppover over elven Grotå.
As always, plan for your trip into the mountains. Expect an 8-9 hour trip in/out in walking time, if you are in normal good shape. You might meet snow and rain at any time of the year.
Good starting points are Gjendeheim, Bessheim or Memurubu, where the recommended route is to walk to Bessvatnet and then go straight up by the Grotå river.

Cachen er en small lock-n-lock-boks med loggbok, infoark og blyant og en Harry Potter badge til FTF. Selve toppen er det mulig å nå både sommer og vinter, men cachen kan det nok være vanskelig å finne på vinteren.
The cache is a smal lock-n-lock box with a log book, info sheet and pencil(s). The peak is available both in the summer and in the winter by skiis, but finding the box in the winter is not to be counted on.
