The Tresco West Bushland Reserve ( "The Daisy Patch") is 20km south east of Swan Hill. It is managed by Parks Victoria.
This small Mallee reserve alongside the seldom used Lake Boga Golf course is of immence importance because it and the adjoining lake support a huge variety of bush birds, waders and water birds. Now that the lake contains water and when there are many plants in flower, over 60 species may be observed over the course of a few hours.Blue Bonnets ( parrots) live here.
Bird watchers often combine their visit with a trip to Goschen Bushland Reserve and the Kerang Lakes.
This reserve contains Berrigan or Long-Leaf Emu Bush that acts as a food source for nomadic Honeyeaters such as Black Honeyeater and Pied Honeyeater. Weeping Pittosporum is also present as well as Box and Calilitis Pine trees, many of which are infested with Mistletoe.
Now that the lake contains water it attracts large numbers of Red-Necked Avocet, Black-Winged Stilt and migratory waders.
