Blue Tahoe Keep Traditional Cache

This cache is best reached by the water.  Either by boat, paddle board, or kayak.  Also, it is best approached in the morning, before the lake gets too rough.  Reaching it from shore will take a walk from the closest public access and then a swim.

The cache is attached to the bottom of the chain holding a buoy.  You should probably be able to see it from the surface.

This is a private buoy, but we have permission to use it for this cache.

As you look to shore from this cache you will see a couple beautiful homes.  When the original house was being built (around 1950), the crew found artifacts from what was probably a camp used by workers on the flume up above.  They found mostly kitchen equipment, like pots and pans.

As kids (in the 1980's) we used to dive in the water below you, looking for golf balls that would work their way down from the creek from the golf course.

Now adays, it's important to protect the water clarity of this lake.  Please help us by picking up any garbage that you find on shore or in the water.
