Geocache Description:

The Cache
An ammo can located in front of the Giles County Chamber of Commerce on the West side of the Courthouse Square.

The Location
Pulaski has a strong preservation program, with the entire square listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A center of fine 18th and 19th century architecture, the Tennessee Historical Commission team declared in 1983 that Pulaski’s square was among the finest courthouse squares in Middle Tennessee. The centerpiece is it's beautiful neoclassical courthouse. Erected in 1909, the building is marked by tall Corinthian columns, solid brass door pulls incised “Giles,” a balcony encircling the third floor, sixteen caryatids (female faces) holding up the arched vault of the rotunda, and a stained glass skylight. In the cupola, the 1858 bell still strikes the hours.

The Area
This cache is placed in Giles County "The Wild Turkey Capital of Tennessee". While the county is famous for it’s wildlife, it is also home of the Milky Way Farm and Mansion--founded by Mr. Frank Mars, the famous candy maker. The county seat, Pulaski was named an All America City in 1993. "The Land of Milk and Honey." Giles County is an ideal stopover for vacationers who enjoy a progressive community that preserves its cultural heritage.

The Jack Trail GeoTour
The Jack Trail GeoTour is a series of geocaches along the backroads and small towns of Middle Tennessee. There is no fixed itinerary, like on a traditional trail, but rather a series of points of interest in a self-guided, goal-oriented plan. We have created a special passport, which you can download here, which lets you track your progress as you hunt specially placed geocaches along the tour. This passport will help you collect “code words” to qualify for special geocoins for completion of the GeoTour.

Special thanks to the Alien Spy for archiving an existing listing to make this placement possible.
