Westchester County is working with the Rivertowns to create a walking path along the Hudson River. Currently, only small segments exist. This is one of them.
The walk is quite pleasant. Unfortunately, very little of it has a river view. Government plans (we know how reliable those are) is that the RiverWalk will run under the new Tappan Zee Bridge and continue north for miles and miles and miles and miles.
As we follow our walk along the river, we come to the end. Or, is it the beginning? Lyndhurst is one of the castles on the Hudson built by the robber barons of the later 19th and early 20th Century. The property is incredible and the castle itself is worth a visit. Numerous events take place throughout the year. Check out http://lyndhurst.org/ for specific information.
Limited parking is available at either end of the RiverWalk, Lyndhurst and the foot of Van Wart Avenue.
