Geocache Description:


The old fortress rises on a peninsula that stretches out on to the sea, not to far from the Capo Carbonara.

Its construction is inserted in the coastal plan of defence conceived by the sovereign Philip II of Spain and realized by the Viceroy Miguel the Moncada in 1578. It is possible that the structure has been engaged on a pre-existing building of 14th century. Actually, the fortress is the result of restorations of the original sixteenth-century plan. The original nucleus has an equilateral triangular form and a height of about 10 meters. Cache is hidden in a safe distance from a fortress, so you won't be disturbed by muggles. Flag Counter P.S.
