Another cache placed along one of the best places in Hamilton, and along one of the best beaches on Lake Ontario.
We placed this cache while visiting the beach for a late summer swim. Does Lake Ontario ever warm up?
The cache is a medium size plastic container, underneath a very large rock and obscured by smaller rocks. This location can be extremely busy at times, and deserted at others. Please do your best to retrieve the cache without being obvious to anyone around you. Or maybe choose a time when the beach will be empty – early morning, after dark, anytime between October and May are suggested. We placed the cache around 7 pm on a warm weekday in late August without too many people around.
There was sand beneath my feet (and between my toes) when the cache was placed, and there should be sand beneath your feet when you find it. That is the clue (see update below)
Update June 30 2016: Container replaced. I found a different spot a little higher up and just a slight bit south. Coordinates are still good. You might have rock under your feet instead of sand when you locate the cache, depending on your approach. Please rehide it well so that it's not visible and check from a few angles before you leave.
Here is another example of how dynamic things are along the beach; yet another hiding location that is completely altered over the span of a year or two by wave and wind. The original hiding spot is gone (more like 'remodeled'). And if you haven't done Bugfinders Beach Strip Earthcache, you should!
