This cache appears to have some issues and in need of maintenance due to one or more of the following:

  • the Needs Maintenance attribute is set for which no action has been taken on your part to address
  • a number of DNFs have been logged, which gives the community the impression that the cache may be missing
  • the cache has not been found in quite some time

If you, as cache owner, have confirmed that the cache is in place and in good condition, please share this with the caching community by posting an Owner Maintenance log. By doing so, this clears the "Needs Maintenance" attribute and lets cachers know that the cache is ready to be found once more.

Otherwise, please take action to either repair/replace to get the cache back on its feet, or archive the cache so that this location is open for another cache placement.

If no action is taken or no word is heard from you by posting a log to the cache, the cache will be archived in roughly 30 days.

Geocache Description:

This is a  hard  little cache .
At times, it will be impossible to get, due to high muggle counts at random times.

NOTE: Propery regulations prohibit searching for this cache between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Security personnel patrol this area 24 hours / day. Therefore, this is a very safe and family friendly area for geocaching.

This cache is located on Tygart Lake State Park.

You will find yourself in the 2nd picnic area and near a small picnic shelter.
This shelter was built by park employees using funds which were raised by, or donated to the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation.
The foundation is a private, not for proffit organization which works in cooperation with park management to provide activities for the community, purchase equipment which isn't funded by state tax dollars and building structures like this shelter for the public to enjoy (this is among a long list of ways they assist TLSP).

Because this shelter is frequently used during the summer, you will need to choose your chaching time wisely.  It will be impossible to retrieve this cache (without muggles catching you), when the shelter is occupied.  The best times to search are:

  • Early mornings.
  • Evenings.
  • Anytime the shelter is vacant.laugh

You are looking for a 3" clear tube, about the width of an average adult index finger.

Parking is available within 15 yards of this cache.
