Parking is not permitted on Lakegate Drive beside the park.
Park nearby on Oceanic Drive.

This site, Laurence P. Sayers Park, offers restful benches, a children's play area, and access to the water in addition to a magnificent view of the lake.

This is a letterbox cache. Letterboxing began over 200 years ago and letterboxers continue to rely only on clues, maps, and magnetic compasses for directions.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. The posted coordinates indicate the park entrance.

If you wish to find the cache using classic letterboxing techniques, put your hi-tech GPSr away and rely on these low-tech clues:
  1. Search the park for the "Lawrence P. Sayers" dedication plaque.
  2. Note the last digit in the year that the plaque was erected (198X).
  3. Walk (X) paces to the left (assuming that you're reading the plaque and facing the lake).
Note: A pace is a casual adult stride.
  4. Walk (X*3) paces towards the lake.
  5. Walk (X*2) paces to the left.
  6. Find the cache.
If you wish to find the cache using modern geocaching techniques, keep your hi-tech GPSr out and rely on these hi-tech clues:
  1. Proceed to N 43° 14.692 W 079° 43.852.
  2. Note two digits:
    • The last digit in the tragic flight number (00X).
    • The last digit in the year that the plaque was erected (198Y).
  3. Proceed to N 43° 14.X02 W 079° 43.8Y6.
  4. Find the cache.
