Ce lieu est magnifique et j'ai trouvé fort dommage que la cache de Rupturefarms soit archivée car l'endroit mérite vraiment une cache qui je l'espère vous plaira !
L'histoire de cette abbaye bénédictine est très récente puisque la première pierre a été posée en 1980, après qu'un terrain de 30 ha ait été acquis sur la commune du Barroux. Cela intervient en fait dix ans après la création d'une petite communauté par Dom Gérard à Bédouin, communauté vouée à Sainte Madeleine. Parallèlement et sur le même modèle, une communauté féminine crée, toujours au Barroux, l'abbaye Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation. Ce n'est qu'en juin 1989 que les bâtiments de Sainte-Madeleine nouvellement construits sont érigés en tant qu'abbaye par le Vatican. Depuis sa création, l'abbaye a tellement de succès auprès des moines (plus de soixante en 1999) qu'elle prévoit de construire un monastère dans le Lot-et-Garonne à Saint-Pierre-de-Clairac : Sainte-Marie de la Garde.
The history of this benedictine abbey is very recent since the fundation stone was laid in 1980, after a 30-hectare land has been acquired in the town Barroux. This actually comes ten years after the creation of a small community by Dom Gérard in Bédouin, community dedicated to Saint Magdalene. Meanwhile on the same model, a community of womencreates, always in Barroux the Abbey of Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation. It is only in June 1989 that the buildings of Sainte-Madeleine newly constructed are erected as abbey by the Vatican. Since its creation, the abbey is so popular with monks (over sixty in 1999) that it plans to build a monastery in the Lot-et-Garonne, Saint-Pierre-de-Clairac: Sainte-Marie de la Garde.
