Geocache Description:

This area is where our 2 oldest children spend most of there spare time when not at school or home, they love the fort around the area and all the trees they can climb.. they like to hang out and walk around the ruins with there friends. it is special to them as this was the first place they explored when we first moved to weeting in march 2014.

Weeting castle is a rare surviving example of a grand 12th century manor house. It was constructed by hugh de plais in about 1180, and was the home of the plais family until the late 14th century, when the property passed by marriage to the howards, Earls of Norfolk, and was subsequently abandoned.

This cach is a micro magnetic be sure to take a look around the castle once you find our cache it is beautiful. please bring a pen to sign the log. there are a lot of muggles walking dogs and also tourist muggles, very beautiful but busy area..
