Park in lay-by 70. This is a long but quite narrow space so do be careful when opening doors on the right.
Fairly certain that there used to be a cache here but must have been archived.
The Wade Stone, erected in 1729 by General Wade when the road was first constructed, is 4 feet wide and 8 feet high. This original marker stone, essential on a Highland road, was on the east side of the road and had to be moved when the new A9 was constructed, as it would have been situated in the middle of the north-bound carriageway. It has been re-located next to the new south-bound carriageway as close as possible to its original location. Smaller stones next to it have been carefully re-positioned in the same relationship to the Wade Stone. There is an original carving of the year - 1729 - but other prolific carving is of a later date. (from http://www.rcahms.gov.uk)
Be aware that there is a ditch in front of the Stone to negotiate - might not be too noticeable if there is snow!
You are looking for a small lock N lock box in a cammo bag.
Cache box has some swaps and room for small trackables or coins.
