Now its been spoken in these here parts that there are mysterious critters been livin' in and along the French Broad River for many a year. Most of them bigger ones that resided in the waters have done passed, with all the folks in tubes, canoes and kayaks unknowingly beating them in the head with paddles and such. But along its banks you can still find some of the smaller ones. They try to stay hidden out of sight in holes in the ground or in trees but they like the sound and smell of the river so they don't go too far from it. If you're hankerin' to find one of them critters, I know where one might be hidin'.
