Geocache Description:

Parking is abundant. Some bushwhacking involved. Try not to disturb the landscaping too much.

Check out the Ernest Clay Batting Complex built in 1983 by former Atascadero Mayor Jerry Clay and named after his father. Jerry has a long history in Atascadero sports and was inducted into the Greyhound Hall of Fame. He is an AHS alumni who felt a strong connection to the community, sports, and civics. In 1964, Jerry and some friends started the Babe Ruth Youth Baseball League. They founded Atascadero Youth Athletics. Jerry coached baseball and basketball for about 40 years. An article by the Atascadero News said "...seeing the people he’s coached coaching, seeing facilities he’s helped build being used, that’s what it’s all about." So enjoy a look around bring a bat, ball, and mitt and enjoy the facilities.
