Geocache Description:

On a good day the views around here are lovely, hard to believe that only 20 years ago this area was still actively mining coal.  My children wanted to place a cache, near enough to home that they can visit regularly but big enough for "treasure".

Located adjacent to the Hard Lane Railway Bridge which sits on top of the train line running from Sheffield to Lincoln on the edge of the village of Kiveton. This cache has views over the former Kiveton Colliery which closed in 1994.  Some of the former pit buildings still exist a short walk away on what is now a nature reserve and well worth a walk through.

Placed at the request of my children, who are expert cache hunters but frequently disappointed by the super small ones (which they are experts at finding) but don't allow room for either "treasures" or travel bugs.

Cache is located next to a road and caution if caching with small children should be exercised
