Coming down the eastern hills of Mount Kedros (Όρος Κέντρος), passing Chordaki (Χωρδάκι) down to Agios Ioannis (Άγιος Ιωάννης) we stopped at this place to take a look at the small stone bridge crossing the Platis Potamos (Πλατύς Ποταμός). Walking over the bridge to the other side of the river we were surprised to find the remains of a building behind the trees. While exploring the deserted walls we decided to place a cache here not really knowing what kind of building this was in former times.
Coming home we tried to find out something about this place but all our inquires were without success and we lost sight of the cache because of our lack of information about these ruins…

Fortunately we remembered this place and the small box which we placed here nearly one year ago and thought it would be a good idea to publish this one for the reason to find out something about this construction build of stones. Our first thought was that this massive walls belonged to a kind of watermill but to be honest, as we did not find any indication for this we did not want to give it this name :-) So maybe you have some more information about this place and it’s function which you might add to your log. With a little luck we will get some more details and will be able to amend and complete the listing as to the history of this place. But also if you do not have some further information have fun and feel free to log this one :-)
Parking is available nearby so that it is more or less a drive by cache.

Nevertheless the cache is hidden and you have to remove 'something' to get it – please do this carefully! We recommend to be very carefully grabing in holes or other unclear aeras – especially if you are searching together with your kids. You should know that there are some kind of animals which could harm you more or less. It is not very likely to encounter these animals while you are on your cache tour. But it is better to know about any possible risks!
Many thanks to WIND&WATER for supporting our cache in case maintenance is needed!
We wish you happy hunting!

Please be so kind and ...
try to log this cache in English so that as many as possible fellow cachers are able to understand the log entries.
Many thanks!
