Schroom Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LEDGEO: The original container for this cache went missing. There has been some interesting activity here since the container was replaced, but we are archiving this traditional to make space for another Letterbox Hybrid on the trail. Stay tuned.

Geocache Description:

The Carolina Thread Trail is a series of interconnected greenways, trails, and blueways.  This particular segment of trail covers 2.2 miles along the South Yadkin River.  This segment of trail is home to numerous hardwood trees and riparian forests.  There are numerous species of plants, birds, and other animals.  The trail is easy to follow and the majority is well shaded for a nice hike nearly any time of the year.

There is great information about this portion and the rest of the Thread Trail project at http://www.carolinathreadtrail.org

We decided to place a whole series of caches along this trail segment to draw attention to this segment of trail and the Carolina Thread Trail system as a whole.  We hope you enjoy these caches and the trail.

Sometimes the names fit the environment.  We think you will understand the name of this cache when you approach GZ.  You might want to bring a stick, some paths have more thorns.

Please observe all posted markings and signage along the trail. In keeping with Thread Trail rules, caches are placed not far from the trail. Please hide as found to protect from muggles and make the hunt fun for the next cachers.

Congrats to tbbiker for the FTF!
