" When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore". I have always been fascinated by a full moon. So ... in honor of the grand 'ole Man in the Moon I have begun a series of caches that I will call The Many Moons. A new Full Moon cache will be hidden each month near the time of a full moon. Each cache will bear the Native American name of the full moon for the month that the cache is hidden.
The 3rd hide of the Many Moons series is September ... The Harvest Moon. This full moon corresponds with the harvesting of crops. The Harvest Moon is the full moon nearest the autumnal equinox and is bright enough to allow the finishing of all harvesting chores. It is also called the Barley Moon because it is the time of year to harvest and thresh ripened barley. You're looking for The Man in the Moon ... a small cache with room for a log only. There's ample parking nearby. Bring a scribble stick.
