"The Pit and the Pendulum" is a study of the effect terror has on the narrator, starting with the opening line that suggests he is already suffering from death anxiety.
It was required reading while I was in high school, however I didn't actually read it until many years later. Just as well, as a teenager I would have had no appreciation for the story as I did in later years.
This cache pays omage to that gruesome classic and to the anxiety that can sometimes happen when trying to find that illusive cache.
