Geocache Description:

Melbourne's historic rowing boathouses on the banks of the Yarra River in Alexandra Gardens, started appearing at the turn of the 19th century. In 1904 the first Henley-on-Yarra regatta was held, becoming one of the most popular events in Melbourne and drawing huge crowds to both banks of the river.

They sit on land worth $30 million, but Melbourne's exclusive rowing clubs pay just $1 a year to control and profit from their city facilities and will so for the next two decades. Most clubs have been in their locations for more than a century. The area hosts the Melbourne Moomba Water festival in March each year. Also in the area is the Riverslide Skate Park and the start of the Yarra River Bike Trail. The cache here is the size of a film cannister. It is camouflaged to fit in with the surrounds and it should contain a pencil. Keep an eye out for muggles and please replace in its sneaky location.
