This short multi-cache takes you on a pleasant walk along the beautiful coastline of Jelsa and introduces you to some fascinating traces of the town’s rich history. During your journey, you will follow the seafront towards the old cemetery and the remains of the ancient fortress wall of Civitas Vetus Ielsae, the former settlement from which modern Jelsa developed.
Today, parts of this historic wall can still be seen near Autocamp Mina. Standing approximately 2.5 to 3 meters high, it remains a visible testimony to the existence of the old town. In the lower section of the wall, you can still recognize the openings once used by guards watching over the settlement and its surroundings.
Not far from the fortress wall, on the grounds of today’s cemetery, the Augustinians built a monastery that existed until 1787. Only the church and its bell tower from 1605 have survived to this day and remain an important part of Jelsa’s cultural heritage.
Important: At no point during this cache do you need to enter Autocamp Mina. All stages and the final can be reached from public paths. The historic fortress wall mentioned in this listing forms part of the outer boundary of the campsite and can be viewed entirely from outside.
Your task is to collect the following values during your walk:
Stage 1 – N 43° 09.649’ E 016° 41.554’
Above the old door you will find a sign. Calculate the digital root of the year shown on the sign (keep adding the digits until only one digit remains). The result is A.
Stage 2 – N 43° 09.714’ E 016° 41.733’
Count all lamps located on the pier wall. The result is B.
Stage 3 – N 43° 09.746’ E 016° 41.931’
Add together all numbers written on the stone plaque. The result is C (two digits).
Stage 4 – N 43° 09.822’ E 016° 42.072’
Count all square red granite plates on the wall of the small building, regardless of their size. The result is D.
The final coordinates can be calculated as follows:

E 016° 42. (7 × C) − D − 46

Ovaj kratki multi-cache vodi vas ugodnom šetnjom uz more kroz jedan od najljepših dijelova Jelse te vas upoznaje s tragovima njezine bogate povijesti. Put vas vodi uz obalu prema starom groblju i ostacima drevnog obrambenog zida Civitas Vetus Ielsae, nekadašnjeg naselja iz kojeg se razvila današnja Jelsa.
Danas se ostaci tog povijesnog zida mogu vidjeti uz Autokamp Mina. Zid je visok između 2,5 i 3 metra te predstavlja jedan od posljednjih vidljivih dokaza postojanja starog naselja. U njegovom donjem dijelu još uvijek su vidljivi otvori u kojima su nekada stražari nadzirali okolinu.
Nedaleko od zida, na području današnjeg groblja, augustinci su izgradili samostan koji je postojao do 1787. godine. Do danas su sačuvani crkva i zvonik iz 1605. godine, važan dio kulturne baštine Jelse.
Važna napomena: Tijekom rješavanja ove geocache staze nije potrebno ulaziti u Autokamp Mina. Sve stanice i završna lokacija dostupne su javnim putovima. Povijesni zid spomenut u ovom opisu čini vanjski rub autokampa te se može u potpunosti razgledati izvana.

Dieser kurze Multi-Cache führt euch auf einem entspannten Spaziergang entlang der Küste von Jelsa zu einigen geschichtsträchtigen Orten des Ortes. Der Weg verläuft am Meer entlang in Richtung des alten Friedhofs und der Überreste der historischen Festungsmauer von Civitas Vetus Ielsae, der alten Siedlung, aus der sich das heutige Jelsa entwickelte.
Die Reste dieser ehemaligen Stadtmauer befinden sich heute in der Nähe des Autocamps Mina. Mit einer Höhe von etwa 2,5 bis 3 Metern ist sie noch immer ein sichtbares Zeugnis der alten Stadt. Im unteren Bereich der Mauer erkennt man noch die Öffnungen, in denen einst die Wachposten ihren Dienst verrichteten.
Nicht weit von der Festungsmauer entfernt errichteten die Augustiner auf dem Gelände des heutigen Friedhofs ein Kloster, das bis zum Jahr 1787 bestand. Erhalten geblieben sind die Kirche und ihr Glockenturm aus dem Jahr 1605, die bis heute zu den historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten Jelsas zählen.
Wichtiger Hinweis: Zu keinem Zeitpunkt muss das Autocamp Mina betreten werden, um diesen Cache erfolgreich zu absolvieren. Alle Stationen sowie das Final sind über öffentliche Wege erreichbar. Die im Listing erwähnte historische Festungsmauer bildet den äußeren Rand des Campingplatzes und kann vollständig von außerhalb besichtigt werden.
