Tarka Trail Three: Search and Rescue Traditional Cache

This is one of a series of geocaches put along the length of what is known as the Tarka Trail, which in turn is part of the South West Coastal trail.

This series are fairly well spread along the trail, allowing for a wonderful and relaxing walk along the estuary.

One word of caution – keep an eye out for cyclists as this is a popular riding track.

This geocache is on the Trake Trail near the old Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter base at Chivenor - before cuts unfortunately moved the operation for North Devon to South Wales

You can still see helicopters sometimes at the base
