The Pool
The pool was opened in 1938 having been built with funds raised by the Abergavenny Improvement Commission. The main pool itself was 128 x 35 feet but there was also a paddling pool, a fountain and a cafe. Unfortunateley in 1996 the local council decided that it was too much work to keep up with new Health and Safety (not just a new occurence then?!?) and closed it down, but prior to this it had been kept going with funds raised by the Friends of Abergavenny Pool who paid for equipment and repairs.
The pool stayed in a bad state of repair and was considered a bit of an eyesore until relatively recently in 2006 when the buildings were demolished and the pool filled in. Even then the ground was left pretty rough and it is only in the last few years that it has been properly flattened, grassed and the small garden added at the southern end and a murial at the top end, all that remains of the pool now is the wall to the left as you look up the slight slope.

The Cache
A magnetic micro concealed in another item to reduce the chance of muggling (hopefully) but should be obvious to a cachers eye (again hopefully!)
