The name Heltermecky first appears as early as 1620 in reference to a local farm. In the winter, it was the starting point of the shortest ice route to the mainland. Sailing boats were used for transport during the rest of the year.
Nowadays, most visitors to the harbour will most probably be spending time here to wait for a ferry. Given suitable weather, the cache will help pass the time. Please note the terrain score and be careful when approacing!
