Geocache Description:


Aberfeldy is a town situated on Scotland's longest river, the River Tay, and is home to the Birks of Aberfeldy, made famous by Robert Burns and inspired him to write the poem 'The Birks of Aberfeldy' in 1787

A short multi-cache that takes you through the town of Aberfeldy

Start at the tourist information centre. On the information board outside what is the first number on the scale at the bottom of the board - Reading from left to right? = D

Cross the road to the fountain. Look at the insert on the top of the fountain installed by Cavin, Marquis of Breadalbane. On the 3rd line from the bottom how many letters are in the second word? = E

Walk up through the town until you come to the war memorial. As you approach the arch look at the pillar on the left hand side with the heading 'Starting for King and Country'. On the 3rd name down from the top how many letters are their in the first name of Campbell TPR Scot Horse? = B

Continue along the road and turn left heading towards the town hall. Look at the inscription on the wall. When was the foundation stone laid? = 188A

As you walk up the hill you will see a prominent feature at the entrance to the Birks of Aberfeldy. On the reverse side of this metal feature you will see the word 'farming' at the bottom. How many letters are there in the 2nd word from the top? = F

On the signpost across from this feature how far is it to Kenmore? = C
