Geocache Description:

Located off the normal haunts in Nags Head.

The cache has been replaced in a new location.
The old location is currently underwater. The cache may in fact be there but due to reports of it disappearing and the fact it could not be located, I have put a new cache in the same area. Search for the old one after finding the new one. The old coordinates are: 35 58.437N 75 39.024W.

This cache is a world away from the typical setting of Nags Head. Leave the beach and head west into the woods.

Park and enter at Gate #5. The hike to the cache is short, less than a quarter-mile. To get to Gate #5, take Hwy 158 to West Ocean Acres Drive, pass the visitors center and turn left onto Old Nags Head Road. Continue for a good ways and Gate #5 will be on the left.
Please only enter through Gate #5 to avoid bushwacking through these unique woods.

BEWARE of bugs of all varieties as they are out to get you. Protect yourself against mosquitoes and ticks so they don't spoil your fun.

Several hunters have reported difficulty finding this cache. There is significant tree cover in the area. Some older GPSr units may have trouble maintaining satellite lock leading to failed attempts.
