I've included a waypoint for what I feel is a suitable place to park on Wood Lea just off Kirk Brae and start the walk but there are plenty of other spots nearby, however please park considerately wherever you decide to stop.
Head up to the top of Wood Lea where you will find a path leading to the entrance into the college grounds. I've included the waypoint for this gate which is also the first cache site, next to the Kirkyard.
Once into the Police College grounds follow the road round to the right, past the Police Memorial on your right and Tulliallan Castle on your left and keep to the road until you see the entrance with the black gates, leading into the woods.
The public are allowed access into the grounds and it is popular with local dog walkers and also the local nursery and school. Take your time and enjoy your surroundings with Tulliallan Castle and the great trees that surround you.
Immediately as you pass through the gates into the woods, turn left off the main path and head up into the woods where you will find a dirt path leading to caches No.2, the Ice House and No.3, the Laundry House.
PS/GT 2 - The Ice House
This Ice House is situated in dense coniferous woodland SE of the Castle. The Castle was completed in 1823 and the Ice House may be of similar date. The main building is egg shaped internally and measures approximately 6m x 4m. The entrance passage is c4m long with three doorways. The facade is arched and c5m long. The top has been covered over with earth and is now overgrown. The storage area is built of well dressed blocked and is in very good condition. The doorways are of dressed and moulded stone. Part of the front facade has collapsed but the building is otherwise intact.
