Geocache Description:

"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered;

the point is to discover them."

--Galileo Galilei

I have pondered for many months on a way to associate one of my favorite shows into a geocache. I believe I may have found a way.

The Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is a department of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime(NCAVC) that uses behavioral sciences to assist in criminal investigations. The mission of the NCAVC and the BAU is to provide behavioral based investigative and-or operational support by applying case experience, research, and training to complex and time-sensitive crimes, typically involving acts or threats of violence.

In a way, we as geocachers, are equal to the elite of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. When a new cache is placed, we tend to profile the cache owner. We look at other caches that this particular cache owner has hidden, in an effort to predict what is lying in wait. We utilize the internet and mapping software to try and understand the area prior to our arrival. We also use profiling whilst hiding a cache. We try to imagine where others will be searching and what those who seek our elusive treasures will be thinking as they search.

I have enjoyed watching Criminal Minds on TV for years. Some of my favorite parts of the show are the opening and closing quotes that are associated with each particular show. Somehow, the writers of this magnificent show find quotes that generally relate to each episode as necessary. Some of the episodes include 1, 2, 3, or sometimes even 4 or more quotes. Each season incorporates an average of 43 quotes into the show. It is in these quotes that the secret to this cache lies.

As we all know, there are MILLIONS of puzzles and ways to encrypt our messages.

In 2 subsequent episodes, labeled "The Fisher King Pt. 1" (the season finale of season 1) & "The Fisher King Pt. 2" (the season opener of season 2,) the team is thrust into a "quest." This puzzle is based on a puzzle that Dr. Spencer Reid must decipher and solve during these episodes.

Now the location of the cache has nothing to do with the show, but this is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat. Its a nice little place out in the middle of nowhere. The cache itself is only big enough for a log. Bring your own pen. Stealth is required most of the day, so be on your "A game." I frequent this place and will be able to check the log often; IF YOU DO NOT SIGN THE LOG, DO NOT LOG A FIND. Please place back as found and as always, cache safely.
