West Wylam Colliery was sunk in 1844 & employed 1,017 men at its peak and produced upto 299,000 tons of coal yearly. The colliery closed in 1961 and the area was reclaimed by Northumberland County Council in 1980. The pit tub was erected in 1988 to mark the site.
The hidden cache is a magnetic nano. Parking waypoint listed. High muggle area and children should be supervised at all times as near a busy road. Bring your own pen and tweezers.
