Note: Winter Cacher's must head Jeff Thorson's (Nov 9) warning. "Lift"
to find the correct set of numbers! Summer Cacher's shouldn't have a problem.
This is a two-part cache. Find a parking spot and then locate the object positioned
at the coordinates listed above. There is a 4-digit number on the rim of this object
that you will need in order to locate the cache via the formula listed below.
On a hot summer day you may have to wait your turn to see these numbers.
You are now standing in a place we visit often to relax and enjoy the view.
Feel free to explore the grounds on your return trip. This is the place where the YWCA became a national body (officially organized in 1886). It now serves as a public college for outdoor and environmental
education. If you’re hungry you’ll find ice cream and other snacks at
the "College Inn" during the summer months.
Your journey will take you along a (very) small portion of the Geneva Lake
Shore Path. This path is open to the public and continues around the entire
lake. You will be venturing off the main path into one of the few areas that
leaving the Shore Path is permitted. Generally speaking, the land on either
side of the Shore Path is private so please stay on this path and respect the
grounds if you decide to travel beyond the bounds of this cache.
The final coordinates for the cache are:
N 42° 34.xx4’
W 88° 33.yy0’
Where,
xx= the first two digits of the 4-digit number minus
15, and
yy= the second two digits of the 4-digit number plus
15.
For example:
If the 4-digit number were 6002 the final coordinates would be N 42° 34.454’
and W 88° 33.170. Where xx =(60-15)=45 and yy =(02+15)=17.
Happy Hunting and Enjoy!
