#48 Our Emerald Isle: Castle Cove Way-Castlecove Village Castlecove is a village on the southwestern side of Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry. The village is along the famous Ring of Kerry which is Ireland's most scenic route. Nearby is the site of Staigue Fort that is about 2,500 years old placing it in the Iron Age (500 BC-5th century AD) and early Christian of the 6th century. This stone fort, 75 feet in diameter, protected several families and their cattle.
