Geocache Description:

These letterboxes feature things you might see within the Nature Park with clues written by kids in park nature camps. The Nature Park does not typically allow caches to be placed within its confines but special permission was granted for these letterboxes as they were developed by the park's campers.</</p>

If you are new to the Nature Park and would like to find these in true letterbox style, you may need a park map (available in the Interpretive Center or at any park entrance). The clues take you along a loop route clockwise. All of the letterboxes are located within one or two steps of the trail. Please remain on the marked trails, because the habitat within the park is sensitive. Remember to replace the letterboxes as you found them with lids tight and all contents within the plastic bag provided. Good luck & happy letterboxing!

Terrain: Paved and mulched trails

Difficulty: Easy

Distance: 1.0 miles round trip

Letterbox #1 – Native blackberry

Native blackberries grow close to the ground and provide food for the birds and critters in the park. To find me, take the first left off of the Vine Maple Trail onto the gravel path. Stay straight when the Ponderosa Loop splits. You will pass an oak tree with four trunks on your left. An 8 ft. snag on your right is followed by an oak with three trunks. Look for me at the base.
