This is the second cache in the Astrakhan region. Saray-Batu is a reconstructed Golden Horde capital - used in a movie - Horde. Initial cache contains notebook, pencil, shoeshine tissue, geocache note (in Russian) and Smolensk 2Rb collection coin.
The closest city is Astrakhan. Make sure you are on the right side of the river as otherwise you will have to get to cross on a barge - which operate quite randomly and might not be available at all. Drive all the way to Selitrennoe (approx 2hrs drive) - once you get there keep driving up the main road for another few Km. You will eventually see a sign for Sarai Batu - Its 5km off from the main road. The cache is located in a small copse of trees near the car park. The site itself, although a reconstruction is quite interesting, with the river Aktuba flowing by it. You'll also get to see a yurt and a few 2 humped camels which are found in the region. On the way beware of cows and horses who cross the roads, .sometimes galloping out of nowhere.
