The route takes in 7 play parks (6 really, but you’ll see what I mean!) a large green space and an ancient wood. All the playparks are rated and described by my son. There are many lovely picnic spots en route and also a very small detour to a nice pub for the adults!
The trail can be done in any direction and from any point, but I’ll be writing the directions starting from the first cache and going anti-clockwise. NB: A number of caches along this route have been archived in the last year so the number extra caches available may wax and wane!
Continue east along the Redway until you reach the canal. Don’t forget to look for:
Downhead Trail 4 Rumble-Rumble
Downhead Trail 1 The Corner
(Making sure to check for horses in the paddock on the left in-between those two).
Turn left at the canal (please be careful of the little ones along this stretch! You don’t want to fall in like the CO’s mother!) and pick up:
Grand Union Series Bridge 79d Willow Pattern
At the 2nd bridge after the previous cache turn left for 50 yards to get to the second playpark at N 52 03.806 W 000 44.766.
A great park that has lots to do, an awesome slide, a table tennis table, a football/basketball court and what I think is a skate park. Recommend you don’t go down the slide backwards!
7/10
Returning to the canal path, continue North and follow the obvious path for:
Brick Outhouse
Continue along the path and re-join a canal-side leisure route before hunting for the cache!
You are looking for a largish container covered in black duct tape. Lots of room for swaps and TBs.
Congratulations to mcaddy on FTF
